===================================================[  Day 210 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

Doctor visits and oral chemotherapy & other meds continue. Tomorrow, Jen has the pleasure of having a bone-marrow biopsy. All necessary to keep on track, staying healthy and back to work. Happy plans for the holidays and long-range plans are training for a 1/2 marathon!

===================================================[  Day 200 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

Returning to California after an extended family visit in Oregon, Jen finds her life is getting back to normal. Doctor visits and oral chemotherapy & other meds continue.

===================================================[  Day 170 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

Driving around town and interacting with newly diagnosed APL patients are all in Jen's daily routine. Jen's quality of life is progressing better each day... a two week trip to see family in Oregon will take place soon. Weekly doctor visits and oral chemotherapy & other meds continue.

===================================================[  Day 165 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

Jen's quality of life is progressing better each day... a two week trip to see family in Oregon will take place soon. Weekly doctor visits and oral chemotherapy & other meds continue.

===================================================[  Day 160 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

Jen's Hickman Device has been removed! Her white blood-cell count is 2.200 and progressing better each day... weekly doctor visits and oral chemotherapy & other meds continue, but life for Jen is getting back to normal.

===================================================[  Day 150 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

Jen's final consolidation treatment (intravenous chemotherapy) is now COMPLETE! Jen's vital white blood count numbers are better today, she is still very tired most of the time... the doctors are cautious with office check-ups every-other-day, but she can exercise a little more freedom and drive a car around town! The minor surgery to remove the Hickman Device is scheduled within the next few weeks, and then life for Jen can start getting back to normal.

===================================================[  Day 145 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

Jen's final consolidation treatment (intravenous chemotherapy) is scheduled for tomorrow. We will all be very happy to begin the closure with the treatments, and get Jen's life back to normal.

===================================================[  Day 125 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

Jen's vital white blood count numbers are finally MUCH better @ 2.600 today, the doctors are still cautious, but life for Jen is getting somewhat back to normal. The final consolidation treatment is a few weeks away.

===================================================[  Day 112 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

Jen's vital white blood count numbers are better today @ 1.200 today, the doctors are cautious with office check-ups every-other-day, but she can exercise a little more freedom and drive around town! One more consolidation treatment and minor surgery to remove the Hickman Device is in the near future, and then life can get back to normal.

===================================================[  Day 110 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

Jen's vital white blood count numbers are at 1.000 today, the doctors are cautious, but we have her at home for now!

===================================================[  Day 107 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

Jen's vital white blood count numbers ramping up to 1.300 today, the doctors are cautious, but we hope to have her home by the weekend.

===================================================[  Day 105 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

And yet, another day in paradise... Jen's third week (of this hospital stay) continues with her vital blood count numbers ramping up a bit better than before, the doctors are cautious, but we hope to have her home by the weekend.

===================================================[  Day 100 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

Another day in paradise... Imagine no sunshine on your face... Imagine no shadow to follow you during your walk in the park... Imagine Jen in her isolation room. Jen's second week (of this hospital stay) continues with her vital blood count numbers ramping up slowly, the doctors are cautious, but we hope to have her home in a few more days.

===================================================[   Day 93 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

As expected, back in the hospital she goes... her vital counts are low and her immune system has become weaker after the last round of chemotherapy. She is back in an isolation room, a good precaution against infection. Hopefully this will be a short stay, and back home soon. Going forward... Jen only has one final intravenous push of chemotherapy remaining in her treatment.

===================================================[   Day 90 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

So far so good... Jen has completed the final day of this round (5 of a 5 consecutive days protocol of chemotherapy) today. Jen gets to recover at home, as long as her vital counts stay in a proper range. Daily visits to the doctor keeping tabs on her vital numbers are essential. Staying at home is the preference, however, in the hospital she goes of her vital counts are low and her immune system becomes weaker.

===================================================[   Day 87 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

Jen has completed the second day of a 5 consecutive days protocol of chemotherapy today. She has had a favorable reaction to these new blue-fluid intravenous meds delivered by outpatient process (no overnight stay at the hospital). we are headed to the hospital today for the 3rd round, then Jen gets to recover at home, as long as her vital counts stay in a proper range.

===================================================[   Day 85 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

Jen begins a 5 consecutive day protocol of chemotherapy today. If she has a favorable reaction to these intravenous meds delivered by outpatient process (no overnight stay at the hospital), each day she will receive an intravenous push of a lower-dose of blue-colored chemotherapy via a port of the Hickman Device installed in her chest (and a pull of blood sample from the other port) at either the doctors in-patient office or hospital. She will be able to recover at home each day instead of an overnight stay in the hospital... staying at home is much more comfortable for Jen, rather than at the hospital at $10,000 a day!

===================================================[   Day 80 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

Jen and her entire family are enjoying having her back home. Her father has been with us for the week and he heads back home today. The doctors are modifying the next consolidated chemotherapy to allow Jen to stay at home if all goes according to plan. Her daily meds have been modified also to reduce the intake. Her vitals are doing GREAT and the latest EKG shows a perfect heart with no damage from the extreme meds pumping through her veins.

===================================================[   Day 71 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

Back home again! - Daily visits the doctor for vital checks. We are all very happy to have Jen back home.

===================================================[   Day 66 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

Not so good vitals, today... Doctor wants Jen back in the hospital for isolation while her vitals (specifically white blood cell count) increases. Jen's sister Sara is now helping out again.

===================================================[   Day 65 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

Back at home again, with GREAT spirits... hoping for continued good vitals. Jen's brother Phil came to town and helped out at home, sister Sara on stand-by. Still cancer free and in remission - if all goes well Jen's future treatments can be via outpatient... unless her vitals fall too low, then back in the hospital she might go.

===================================================[   Day 60 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

Jen's hospital visit has been successful, she has finished this round of her protocol of intravenous chemotherapy and her vital counts are all up again today. Looking to have the doctors sign her off to return back home soon.

===================================================[   Day 52 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

Jen's back in the hospital again today. Her sprits and vitals are so much better this time around. She is in to take her next round of intravenous chemotherapy. She is admitted and tucked away in her isolation room, complete with cell phone, tv, dvd player and laptop. Hopefully this stay will be much shorter than the previous, we want her back home as soon as possible! Currently her white cell count is 3.400 and platelets at normal, we expect all counts to once again drop after the protocols.

===================================================[   Day 50 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

Jen's brief stay at home was wonderful! Her other GREAT news is that the most recent lab reports INDICATE NO CANCER CELLS and she is in remission! - Her brother Matt & his wife (Alicia) stayed for a few days during home recovery, we all enjoyed it, but now it's back to business. Jen will be entering the hospital again by the end of this week, to take her next round of intravenous chemotherapy.

===================================================[   Day 39 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

She's home! Her other GREAT news is that the most recent bone marrow lab reports INDICATE NO CANCER CELLS! - YUP JEN'S PROGRESS IS AHEAD OF SCHEDULE! - After a good stay at home (taking oral chemo meds and receiving home-care with Sister Emily she will be scheduled for one additional stay at the hospital for a consolidation round of intravenous chemo. EVERYONE please keep the good thoughts, prayers and messages coming!

===================================================[   Day 37 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

She's home!

===================================================[   Day 35 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

Jen's progress is racing forward! Her platelet count is ACCUALLY NORMAL! - white cell count is raising but still indicates cancer cells present. Jen is in GREAT spirits, still in the hospital, but each day the rotation for oral meds instead of intravenous continues. She will have another painful bone marrow test today.

===================================================[   Day 33 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

Plenty of progress today, each selection of blood counts are up today! Sure looks like Jen is looking forward to a long awaited stay at home break! Jen and her at-home-care-giver have been trained for medical procedures and are eagerly awaiting the doctor's OK for Jen to come home for a while where her home, friends, family & pet await!

===================================================[   Day 31 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

Bone marrow tests are back today... plenty of progress, however there are indications of cancer cells still present in Jen's blood. In the not too distant future (hopefully after a long awaited stay at home break) Jen will receive another intravenous protocol of chemotherapy.

===================================================[   Day 30 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

At home care giving is being trained today at the hospital. This certified care-giving is required for Jen to leave the hospital for an at home break.

===================================================[   Day 28 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

Another painful bone marrow sample is taken... positive test results are required for Jen to leave the hospital for an at home break.

===================================================[   Day 27 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

Head-Scarf's and Baseball Caps are now a BIG fashion statement... Jen will soon be joining that crowd! Daily white-cell count spikes (up and down) are still occurring with short-term fevers.

===================================================[   Day 26 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

The GREAT news is that Jen's white blood cells continue to ramp up and her numbers are getting better! Today the count was 1.400, which is a terrific gain from 0.200 when she entered the hospital. The doctors continue with pushing intravenous platelets and other meds for her, with an eye to moving more to oral meds so she can soon get a break from the hospital and have some quality time at home before her next protocol.

===================================================[   Day 19 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

It's been one week since Jen completed her first cycle protocol of chemotherapy for her diagnosed APL M3 leukemia. The doctors assume that she will probably (depending upon progress) receive two more chemotherapy protocols during the next few months. The doctors continue with pushing intravenous platelets and other meds for her.

The GREAT news is that Jen's white blood cells are ramping up and her numbers are getting better!

Sister Becky is now on-site with Jen. We sincerely appreciate everyone's positive email responses, when things get back to normal, it will be fun responding back to each one of you, but for the near-term we are not much for chatting. For those that are looking to help, Jen has suggested finding your nearest blood blank and donating.

===================================================[   Day 12 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

Jen has completed a cycle protocol of chemotherapy for her diagnosed APL M3 leukemia. During the protocols, Jen had some very good days. Her hairdresser was able to give her a very trendy short-cut look. Her sister Sara has been on-site with her and she receives constant inquiries from her family and friends. Jen thanks you so very much and send her love to you and your family, all of your kind words and volunteering efforts help keep a bright outlook! Today's news indicates Jen's first chemotherapy protocol has not produced the results the doctors are looking for, so today she will receive blood-platelets and more tests to determine the next steps.

====================================================[   Day 5 - Jennifer's Progress ]===================================================

Jen has completed a 5th day of IDARUBICIN chemotherapy for her diagnosed APL M3 leukemia. This leukemia has a terrific remission rate of 96% - she is in a specialized room at the hospital during the next 2 to 6 months during treatment. The doctors are bringing down all of her counts (white/red cells - platelets, etc) to eliminate this, then treat the bone marrow to grow correct cells. Jen is DOING GREAT and each day we are all feeling much more confident that a few years from now we will look back on this as faint memory. We are getting terrific support from family members and getting more settled with the routine each and every day. She sends her LOVE and sincerely appreciate everyone's patience and kind thoughts.
